Multifunctional nanocoating for enhanced titanium implant osseointegration
In this study, a multifunctional nanocoating was developed for titanium (Ti) mini-implants to address bacterial infection and promote osseointegration. The nanocoating, called Ag-GL, consisted of antimicrobial peptides GL13K and silver nanoparticles. The results demonstrated that the Ag-GL coating effectively reduced bacterial colony formation and inflammation, while promoting bone formation and osseointegration in vivo. This study highlights the potential of the Ag-GL nanocoating to enhance the long-term success of Ti implants by preventing infection and improving bone integration.
