Prof. Zhou Ye
Dr. Zhou Ye is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
Dr. Ye holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China and a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in United States. Before joining HKU, Dr. Ye completed two postdoctoral trainings at the School of Dentistry of University of Minnesota and at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering of University of Notre Dame in USA.

Ruonan Zhang
Visiting Scholar (2026-）
Dr. Ruonan Zhang is a dentist and works at Capital Medical University, Beijing, China. She received her PhD in Orthodontics and served as a Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. Her research interests broadly focus on biomaterials and regenerative medicine, with particular interests in bioactive materials and biointerface modulation.

Tianxiang Wu
Postdoctor (2024-）
Dr. Wu obtained his PhD. degree from the Department of Chemistry at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2022. His research focus is on biosensing and bioanalysis, primarily utilizing clock reactions to achieve instrument-free quantitative colorimetric detection. The ultimate goal is to translate the research outcomes from the laboratory to benefit society. His hobby is playing mahjong, poker, basketball, and swimming.
Weiling Lu
Postdoctor (2024-）(Co-supervised with Prof.Judy Yam from HKU Medicine)
Weiling received her PhD in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Nanjing University of Science & Technology in 2024. Her research interests include the design and biomedical applications of hydrogel biomaterials. Her hobbies are astronomy, graphic design and traveling.

Jiarong Xu
Phd Student (2023-)
Jiarong obtained her M.S. in Dentistry at Nanchang University in June 2023. She is interested in the application of bioprinting in medicine, including the design of 3D scaffolds and the application of hydrogel materials. She loves music and photography. For her, going hiking on holidays is a preferred way to release pressure.
Tingting Lin

Tingting obtained her M.S. degree from Tongji University in 2023. Her primary research interests focus on cell biology and histochemistry. On weekend, she loves playing the games and eating delicious food.
Wanting Qu

Wanting obtained her M.S. in Dentistry at Xi‘an Jiaotong University in 2023. She is interested in the application of nanoparticles and dissolvable microneedles for drug delivery. On holidays, she likes to travel, experience different things in life
Yuqi Wan
Phd Student (2024-)
Yuqi obtained her B.S. degree (Applied Chemistry) in 2021 from Wuhan Institute of Technology, and complete her M.S. in Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include nanomaterials for water splitting, photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction, biocompatible nanoscale organic frameworks for drug delivery. She enjoys playing the piano, jogging and painting in her spare time.
Haoyan Wu
Phd Student (2025-)
Haoyan obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, specializing in Implantology. She is interested in the development of novel nanomaterials and their drug delivery applications for oral diseases. In her spare time, she enjoys attending concerts, traveling, and photography.
Zhecheng Kang

Zhecheng completed his B.Eng. in Polymer Material and Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research interests include biosensors, conductive hydrogel, etc. In spare time, he prefers watching anime, traveling, and enjoying foods.

Yilin graduated with a Bachelor of Stomatology from Wuhan University in June 2024. Her primary research interests focus on biosensors and drug delivery. In her free time, she loves playing the piano, badminton and indulging in delicious cuisine.
Zixuan Chen

Zixuan obtained his Bachelor's degree in Microelectronic Science and Engineering from Fudan University. His research interests include biosensor systems, with a focus on the design and implementation of integrated electronic platforms for sensor data acquisition. Zixuan enjoys working out in the gym, playing video games, and travelling.
Yunlin Guan

Yunlin Guan completed her Master's degree in Orthodontics at Nanchang University, where she also earned her Bachelor's degree in Stomatology in 2023. She has a broad research interest in antimicrobial peptide coatings for implants, piezoelectric materials and coatings, and dental resins. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and drawing.
Wenxuan Xia
Phd Student (2026-)
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Stomatology from Gannan Medical University in 2023, and recently completed my Master's degree in Orthodontics at Nanchang University in 2026. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Stomatology at the University of Hong Kong (2026–2030). My current research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and dentistry, specifically focusing on AI applications in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and orthodontics. Outside of my academic pursuits, I am passionate about swimming and fitness. I also occasionally practice Chinese calligraphy, which helps me maintain focus and balance in my daily life.
Xinyi Cheng
Part-time Phd Student (2026-)
I'm a dentist based in Nanchang, China. I graduated from Nanchang University with a degree in Stomatology in 2020, and I've been working at the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanchang University for the past six years. I'm currently pursuing a part-time doctoral degree at Nanchang University while continuing my clinical work. My current research interest lies in AI-assisted monitoring and prediction of children's facial growth, an area I find both challenging and deeply rewarding. I enjoy reading at home, playing single-player games on my PS5, and occasionally playing badminton.

Yibing got her bachelor's degree in Stomatology from the Fourth Military Medical University, graduating in 2024. Her current research interest is biomaterials and organoids. In her free time, she enjoys exploring food spots and trying out new restaurants.
Xin Wen

Wen Xin (Winsome) obtained her bachelor's degree in Stomatology from Peking University in 2024. Her research interests focus on peptide‑based oral biomaterials.
In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and rock‑climbing to relieve pressure, as well as reading science‑fiction novels.
Zhenwei Wen
MPhil Student (2026-)
I graduated from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, with a bachelor's degree in Medicine in 2024, and would obtain my Master’s degree in Dental Materials Science from the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, in 2026. My current research interests focus on artificial intelligence-assisted biomaterial design, with particular emphasis on integrating computational approaches with the discovery and optimization of functional biomedical materials. My ongoing work includes AI-guided design of covalent organic frameworks for reactive oxygen species-related applications, as well as short-peptide-based liquid–liquid phase separation systems for drug delivery. I’m especially interested in how artificial intelligence can accelerate material screening, structure-function prediction, and the development of novel therapeutic delivery platforms. Beyond research, I enjoy playing board games, exploring different cuisines, and photography.
Weizhuo Jin

I am Jin Weizhuo, an MPhil student at the University of Hong Kong. I completed my double‑degree undergraduate study in Biomedical Engineering and Finance at the University of Hong Kong and graduated in 2026.
My current research interest focuses on hydrogel‑based drug delivery systems, exploring novel biomaterial strategies for controlled and targeted therapeutic delivery.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling to explore different cultures and landscapes, and I also love playing the guitar, which helps me relax after research work.
Rachel Adeline

Rachel obtained her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong. She is currently developing drug-loaded microspheres for delivery applications and validating biosensors designed for disease and environmental pollutant detection. Broadly, her research interests span novel biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and biosensors. Outside of research, she can be found freediving, travelling, or exploring new culinary delights.

Zihan Yan

Yan Zihan is a Computer Science student, expecting to graduate in 2029. In the lab, i works on software and data systems for biosensing projects. My current focus is developing a real-time monitoring pipeline that integrates hardware sensor data with Python-based visualization, including multi-temperature calibration and concentration estimation from optical power readings. Outside the lab, he enjoys playing table tennis and hiking.
Zachary Lam

Lam Sze Long (Zachary) is currently an undergraduate in The University of Hong Kong, pursuing a double degree of Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biological Sciences, graduating in 2029. His research interests focus on biomaterials, immunology and stem cell technology. Outside of research, he enjoys playing table tennis and drawing 2D animations.
David Yu

Yu Wei is a Computer Science student at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), expected to graduate in 2029. Yu Wei’s current research focuses on obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), involving the processing and analysis of sleep recordings to investigate signal changes preceding OSA events. Outside of research, Yu Wei enjoys photography, watching movies, and traveling.
